Not at all. Our resident guides tailor each outing to your level — from first-time birders to listers chasing specific endemics.
It depends on your dates and effort, but active multi-day stays regularly record well over a hundred species, from the 300+ known around the lodge.
Guided birding can be included in your stay or added per day, with a shared spotting scope in the field. Bring your own binoculars; we handle routes, timing and local knowledge.
Year-round. Drier months (June–September, December–January) mean easier trails; wetter months are lush and quiet.
About 1.5 hours from Otavalo and Ibarra, and roughly 2.5–3 hours from Quito’s airport. We can arrange private transfers.
